Kiss Of The Vampire [HELP]

Image
Carried and supported by the male character, typically like a damsel in distress. This was supported with the movies leading up to this time period where women were always seen as the character that needed rescuing. However the male character also has his hand up, suggesting he's protecting himself from something, which shows his vulnerability too. Guy on the bottom right on his knees and head back; quite submissive.  Her head is back which suggests vulnerability and a sense that she is being sexualized; tight dress too. DOES SHOW A SENSE OF OBJECTIFICATION This poster was a made in the 1960's; the time when women were starting to be objectified. A sexual revolution, with the introduction of abortion laws, marriage laws, contraception. They were given more freedom.  The tags of wives were no more, it was now girlfriends and partners. There was also a second wave of feminism that came into play at this time too, where women were made more powerful the before. Looki

TIDE POSTER [HELP]

Image
The image of the woman, a very typical 1950's fashion style with a full face of makeup. This was the trend, people like Veronica Lake, used to have this style. So this could have reflected what was popular in those times. The posters are quite idealised. (Perfect) as it creates an aspirational vision for the audiences. Hair pulled back shows readiness to do more practical work and so portrays women as more resourceful and physical; ready to do the difficult work going on. SYMBOLIC CODE OF HEARTS Women were expected to stay at home and be FULL TIME wives in the 1950's, so this is showing the stereotype of them loving cleaning ETC. The image of her is large in size and so makes her seem like she is powerful. Intertexual reference to a war time propaganda poster featuring Rosie The Riveter. The Advert reflects Van Zoonens theory that women are shown as quite domestic. It also challenges it too as it says that women are also quite sexualized but in this, they aren

Representation of Feminism - 'Bad' Fragrance Advertisement and 'Formation'

"Feminism is the struggle to end sexist/patriarchal oppression", according to bell Hooks. i feel like formation is challenging patriarchal oppression due to the fact that the ubiquitous view is that males are at the top of the charts, both economically and socially, whilst females operate on the latter end. However, Beyonce is represented as powerful and dominant. She is the focused protagonist in the music video, grasping all the status and in one scene, she is surrounded by all male bodyguards; this shows her importance and that she must be protected at all costs. This is constructed by the men wearing all black suits; incredibly smart. Beyonce is also wearing quite professional clothing by just a little more exposed. The camera goes from left to right of the screen, highlighting all of the participants and showing the contrast in status between the males and Beyonce. Another things that subverts patriarchal oppression is a scene where Beyonce is lined up with all her

Evaluation Of Coursework

Evaluation The aim of my production is to shed light on the fundamental issues of society regarding animals and their ubiquitous safety. So the issue I’m trying to tackle and broadcast is the social issue of poaching that is actively going on in many countries. This cause many species to perish and disappear forever. Throughout the coursework, there have been many changes in interests and areas that I have focused on. The genre at first that I chose was Animals in general, then I switched to space and the unknown wonders it holds, since this is something that i find dearly engrossing. I was going to anchor the different indistinguishable features of looking at the milky way from the perspectives of the front cover and the double page spread. And in general that area of science in incredibly engaging. However now i have rerouted my attention on the topic of animals and have thought that there needs to be a message about it and not just a showcase of their beauty. Somethings needs

Magazine [SAME] Double Page and Front Cover Analysis

Image
It is clear that the magazine is exploring the wonders of the milky way and ultimately, the unknown of astronomy beyond the human vision. And so, therefore, the correlation of the front cover and the double page spread is that they both have indistinguishable features of looking at the milky way. The double page spread is giving instructions on how to observe, and the best way to capture the milky way; via using a tripod and the front cover is actively showing the milky way and giving you hints that this is the content that will be shown throughout the magazine. Therefore, the designers are making clear links to each other. On the front cover, there already is a mass amount of writing in small font; a verbal code and symbolic code (images of the universe), that portray what is going to be discovered within the magazine. Therefore, the fact that inside, the amount of writing and imagery there is are both plentiful is to be expected and understood. So the designer
