Magazine Front Cover analysis

At home with he king of the wild Frontier

Jack white' magazine cover portrays more names in the cover than anything else. Things that stand out are his name mostly since its the biggest item on the magazine and the other names placed around his picture. The colour scheme is Red, Black, Blue, White. Since May 22, Yemen has used the simple tricolour: black is said to stand for the dark days of the past. White represents a bright future and red, the blood of the struggle to achieve independence and unity. Similar flags have been used by: Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and The Sudan.

Representation

Jack White is being portrayed as pretty serious and dark due to his facial expressions and the clothes he is wearing. His stance also suggests some sort of high status and dominance.

Audience

The audience seems like it may be the adults or older generation. Anyone interested in the global issues of society due to the fact that one of the things planted on the magazine includes,"Whatever became of the vaccines?" and so this tells me its more of a rant and/or political opinion type magazine that may portray his thoughts on certain social situations around the world.

Genre

I believe this is a "Lifestyle and culture magazine."

Pride

Georgina Campbell' magazine portrays a few rhetorical questions which suggests he want the audience to take a look at themselves and think about, for example, "How self-centred are you?" The things on the magazine cover that hooks my attention is title "Pride"due to the fact that it is the biggest thing on the cover. Pride suggests that you need to become more confident and to help you do that you might need to use the product to feel better and have more pride. The different colours being used. Purple and white mainly. These colours may not have any specific meaning apart from the fact that they look nice however, purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. The colour purpleis often associated with royalty, nobility and luxury as well as pride, peace, independence and dignity, therefore, that may be the reason behind the choice of colour.

Representation

Georgina Campbell is portrayed as quite confident and positive due to her facial expressions and action of her finger being near her lip in a way that may suggest seduction in a way.

Audience

The audience may be the female gender specifically due to the fact that this may be in reference to the equality movement in terms of rights given to women and so may be a magazine that's aim is to empower women and give them a voice.Make them more confident with themselves and give them the mindset that they are important and beautiful but not too elf-centred either.

Genre

I believe this is a "Fashion magazine."
